Characterized by its imposing arches, this building originally served as a maintenance yard and shelter for the engines used on the inclined tracks of the Serra do Mar mountain range. Its exposed brick masonry structure, typical of 19th-century British industrial architecture, features large glass windows that flood the interior with natural light. With high ceilings designed to accommodate heavy machinery, the space offers an iconic view of the Paranapiacaba clock tower, whose design was inspired by London’s Big Ben.
