Standing across from the railway line, this roughly two-hundred-year-old colonial-style building bears important marks of local history. Built by enslaved people along an old muleteer route, the warehouse still features original elements from that period, such as whitewashed rammed-earth walls and distinctive blue windows and doors. The building briefly served as a safehouse for Nazi fugitives in the wake of World War II, a period that is recorded in an inscription above the entrance. Though modest in appearance, the house also features a bar (now closed), with glass bottles displayed along its shelves.
