Also known as São Vicente Beach, this is one of the city’s most traditional landmarks and the site where navigator Martim Afonso de Sousa landed on January 22, 1532. Located in the central region between Marco Padrão and Millionaires’ Beach, the beachfront features a promenade, palm trees, lighting, restrooms, and showers, offering clear views of Porchat Island and the Ponte Pênsil (Suspension Bridge). The beach is also home to the Marco Padrão monument, erected in 1932 to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the city’s founding.
