The house is characterized by a neocolonial architecture although its façade has been modified with paintings of flowers. It is known for hosting local traditional ceremonies dedicated to spiritual protection and well-being (fecha-corpo). A practice deeply embedded in local traditions, the event involves drinking cachaça, or distilled sugarcane spirit, infused with guinea and rue, which is produced by the owner himself. On the day of the ceremony, a queue forms, stretching about three blocks from the residence, where the infused cachaça is shared among the attendees.
