Erected in 1939 as a hospital for underprivileged tuberculosis patients, the building was repurposed in 1963 as the headquarters of the Faculdade de Ciências Médicas e Biológicas da Unesp (Unesp’s Medical and Biological Sciences College). It is the only building on campus that preserves its original design, featuring a simple white façade with row upon row of windows. A square with trees and benches sits before the building, inviting rest and contemplation.
