This 18th-century colonial building, with its perfectly symmetrical windows, is a representative example of the architecture of the period. Inside, its historical features are preserved in the rustic furniture and the central wooden staircase, which help keep the building’s original character intact. The pousada, or inn, continues to play an important role in the city center.
