Inaugurated in 1922 in the former Bolsa Oficial do Café, or Coffee Exchange, building, the museum stands as a major reference center for coffee culture in Brazil. Beyond its historical importance, the Museum is celebrated for its architecture, which features beautiful stained-glass windows, geometric flooring designs, and the Sala do Pregão, or Auction Hall, furnished with eighty-one jacaranda wood chairs and tables.
