Built between 1697 and 1718, this colonial-style church is distinguished by a main façade that includes a triangular pediment above three arched choir windows. The forecourt is reached by a thirty-five-step staircase, flanked by sculptures of Saint Peter, Saint Paul, Saint Sebastian, and Saint Benedict. With dimensions of forty by ten meters, the building’s ceiling features a five-meter-diameter fresco depicting Nossa Senhora D’Ajuda.
